Wheelchair Accessible Volkswagen Caddy

This wheelchair accessible vehicle has been converted by Lewis Reed who are experts in adapting vehicles to a very high standard indeed.  This Caddy is no exception, and it also includes a front passenger seat that can swivel and extend to the outside of the vehicle so that the passenger does not have to ‘climb’ in or out of the seat (see photograph).

With capacity to accommodate up to six passengers including the wheelchair user, this is a great wheelchair accessible vehicle for anyone with a family (Isofix fittings on outer rear seats for young children), or for anyone needing extra seating.  The rear seats can be folded down or tilted forwards out of the way when extra space is required in the back.  The seats can be adapted to suit the travellers’ needs and Lewis Reed have gone that extra mile by creating seat legs that can be folded flat into the floor.  The effect of this is to produce a longer wheelchair location when the rear seats are tilted forwards and not in use.  If you are someone who would struggle to push a manual wheelchair/wheelchair user up the length of the ramp then the winch installed in this WAV will take the strain away by simply pulling the wheelchair/wheelchair into the vehicle –  all by remote control!  The unique ‘TorSpring’ one piece wheelchair access ramp at the back is very lightweight so easy to lift up and down – a big plus!  The Volkswagen offers a smooth ride and is an exceptionally comfortable vehicle to get out and about with a wheelchair user.
